      Thank you brothers and sisters, Orthodox believers, and people of good faith;
      thank you friends of the Serbian nation and Church, and all foreign friends who are fond of the Serbian people. I lack sufficient words to express my gratitude for this prestigious award that I was presented with by the Karic Foundation as a Serbian Patriarch. I am trying to choose words worthy of praise and appreciation but I am not succeeding, and I find that a noble and praiseworthy deed does not require words since action speaks louder than words.
      That is the most magnificent speech and the greatest gratitude of the human heart, and I am doing so on this occasion. I am glad that in our time, being as it is, since we are part of it, exists a family that follows the example of the Serbian donors and benefactors.  Belgrade remembers them well, and I shall not mention them all on this occasion. I will talk about one only as he is close to my heart and the heart of the Karic family. It is a great name and a remarkable deed, the name of Sima Andrejevic Igumanov, donor of the School of Divinity in Prizren, as well as the buildings at Terazije that provide for the School of Divinity that he has built; many underprivileged children from the Serbian Kosovo have the scholarship from Sima’s beneficent building.
      Thanks God for the man who follows the distinguished path of those who did not enjoy on their own the property that God has given them, but have shared it with those in need. He has a great mission in life to support science, culture of art, and everything that is beneficial for his people and essential for their existence and their future.
      That is what the Karic brothers have accomplished with their foundation. I wish that the other affluent people of our nation model themselves on them and follow the objectives of the Karic Foundation.
      It will so happen, God willing.
      I am handing this award over to my Alma mater, the School of Divinity in Prizren, which has experienced the same faith of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, which is the most tragic one since the Kosovo battle. Never have the Serbian people lived through such an extensive tragedy as the one they faced in the democratic 21st century.
      The great work of Sima Igumanov - the School of Divinity, was looted and burnt to the ground. The Serbian Church is making an effort to reconstruct the School of Divinity and carry on with the great mission that it has had for almost 130 years, and in a huge part of that period, it was the only Serbian educational institution in Kosovo and Metohija, in the so-called South Serbia.
      It is in the process of reconstruction, and it is planned that from this year onwards, it should resume the work that it started in 1871. We are hoping that the rebuilding of the School of Divinity will also represent a symbolic recreation of the Serbian royal city of Prizren where the Serbian kings held court. I believe that this renovation will be a great comfort for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and it will be a motive for them to return to their homes, their ruined cemeteries and destroyed churches in order to renovate them for the endless time throughout history.
      We believe that we will succeed, primarily with God’s help, but also with the help of the noble people. I thank the Karic Foundation, as it represents the strong desire for the return of life in Kosovo and Metohija. I was not born in that region, but I have spent fifteen years of my life as a student and professor at the School of Divinity.  I thank the donors and wish that the Almighty will help us continue with our effort in preserving the sanctities with which we live in order for Kosovo to remain Kosovo of the Serbian people - our treasure.
